Rossella Biscotti nació en 1978 en Molfetta, Italia
Actualmente vive y trabaja en Bruselas
Rossella Biscotti usa el montaje como un gesto para revelar narrativas individuales y su relación con la sociedad. En su práctica interdisciplinar, que atraviesa la producción cinematográfica, la performance y la escultura, explora y reconstruye los momentos sociales y políticos de la historia reciente a través de la subjetividad y las experiencias de individuos usualmente relegados al fondo del sistema institucional. En el proceso de componer sus encuentros personales y entrevistas en nuevas historias, el proceso de investigación tiende a dejar su marca en sus esculturas e instalaciones. Rastros de la vida de las personas, objetos e ideas son cuidadosamente tejidas en nuevas narrativas visuales. Al examinar la relevancia del material recuperado desde una perspectiva contemporánea, Biscotti crea vínculos y redes con el presente, empoderando la imaginación, cultura y experiencia del espectador.
Rossella Biscotti se graduó de la Accademia di Belle Arti en Nápoles en 2002 y asistió a la Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten en Ámsterdam entre 2010-2011. Su trabajo ha sido parte de importantes exhibiciones internacionales, incluyendo la 55a Bienal de Venecia y la 13a Bienal de Estambul (2013), Documenta 13 (2012), y Manifesta 9 (2012).

Biscotti ha recibido numerosos reconocimientos artísticos, entre los que se cuentan el ACACIA Prize for Contemporary Art (2017), Premio della XVI Quadriennale d’Arte di Roma (2016), el Mies van der Rohe Stipendium, (2013), el Premio Michelangelo en la XIV Bienal Internacional de Escultura de Carrara (2010), el Segundo Prix de Rome en Holanda (2009), The City of Geneva Grand Prize en la 12a Bienal de Imágenes en Movimiento (2007), y el Premio NY, Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs en colaboración con la Academia Italiana y la Universidad de Columbia en Nueva York (2006).
