Tela Bordada is comprised of an installation, a performance, a video and a piece of fabric that Teresa Margolles retrieved from the morgue in São Paulo, Brazil. During the video, one can only imagine the events that this residual fabric has witnessed, as a group of local women embroider it with colorful threads. Each woman tells her story, revealing the recollections of death and violence experienced in their neighborhoods. Discover this work in the exhibition Sous le fil (Under the Thread) reopening at les Abattoirs on May 19th, 2021.
