Sylvie Selig at Taipei Biennial 2025

We are pleased to announce Sylvie Selig’s participation in the 14th edition of the Taipei Biennial 2025, Whispers on the Horizon, curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath.
Born in 1941 in Nice, Sylvie Selig lives and works in Paris. Her practice unfolds within a fantastical and allegorical universe where mythology, memory, and the unconscious intertwine. Through richly detailed compositions and hybrid figures, she constructs dreamlike narratives that oscillate between innocence and darkness, exploring the fragile boundaries between the human, the animal, and the imaginary. Her works invite viewers into a world of metamorphosis and wonder, where the surreal becomes a mirror of our deepest emotions and fears.
This edition of the Biennial brings together 54 artists from 35 cities around the world, amplifying the voices of emerging and mid-career artists through newly commissioned works and site-specific installations.
Exploring the many dimensions of nostalgia, the Biennial reflects on the layered history of Taiwan, weaving connections between personal narratives and collective memory. Whispers on the Horizon unfolds as a dialogue between past and present, reality and illusion, permanence and disappearance.
Opening on November 1, 2025, at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Until March 29th, 2026.
