Online Lecture Hajra Waheed @Stadelschule

On the occasion of her solo exhibition at Portikus, Hajra Waheed will discuss her multi-channel musical composition and sound installation: Hum. Her lecture will briefly outline the specific histories that instigated and inspired the creation of this work. She will also speak to the importance of music and the large role it has played in conveying stories of resistance around the globe, with a focus on the ubiquitous yet overlooked medium of humming, exploring it as a language of resistance. The lecture will conclude with a brief Q&A with Christina Lehnert, the curator of Portikus.
