Discover Nohemi Perez’s new, large-scale charcoal drawings depicting scenes that problematize the social and political issues of our time related to the natural world in her latest exhibition 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵’𝘴 𝘉𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 (𝘌𝘭 𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘣𝘰𝘴𝘲𝘶𝘦) at the SCAD Museum of Art.
In the pieces commissioned by the museum, Pérez continues her exploration of her series of “subjects at risk” also known as endangered species. These magnificent trees drawn with extreme detail establish a dialogue with minuscule, almost imperceptible figures of birds, dogs, and human bodies brought to the fertile forests in her home country of Colombia by historic and current colonialism and armed conflicts.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵’𝘴 𝘉𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 (𝘌𝘭 𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘣𝘰𝘴𝘲𝘶𝘦) will be open until January 2, 2022. Don’t miss it!
