Discover Nohemí Pérez’s The Flight of Mamá Chigüiro on view at the exhibition Save Land at Bundeskunsthalle

Following its series of interdisciplinary and scientific and socially relevant topics, Bundeskunsthalle presents Save Land, a show that questions the land restoration. Taking from contemporary art, cultural history, natural sciences and latest media technologies, the exhibition aims to understand the global situation of land.

The Flight of Mamá Chigüiro depicts the impacts of the intentional fires that have taken place in the Catatumbo region, the movement of illegal groups through forests and jungles in Latin America, illegal mining and constant logging. Many embroidered animals, some unfinished, mixed with violent scenes of human survival and the desolation of mamá chigüiro among the burned landscape are a cry for help in the contemporary situation. This work critiques the different processes to which nature has been exposed to and honors those who still struggle to survive in these zones.

Save Land is open until June 1st, 2025. Don’t miss it!
