Kader Attia, Guadalupe Maravilla, and Uriel Orlow at the 61st of La Biennale di Venezia

We are thrilled to announce that Kader Attia, Guadalupe Maravilla, and Uriel Orlow have been invited to participate in the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Koyo Kouoh.
The Exhibition will be realised with the contribution of the team selected by Koyo: Gabe Beckhurst Feijoo, Marie Hélène Pereira and Rasha Salti (advisors); Siddhartha Mitter (editor-in-chief); and Rory Tsapayi (research assistant).

Titled In Minor Keys, this edition foregrounds subtle resonances, layered histories, and alternative perspectives within contemporary art. The 61st Venice Biennale will take place from 9 May to 22 November 2026.

Kader Attia is a French-Algerian artist who grew up between Paris and Algeria, an experience that shaped his intercultural, research-based practice. His work centers on the concept of “repair,” examining how colonial histories, loss, and trauma continue to inform individual and collective identities.

Guadalupe Maravilla is a transdisciplinary visual artist, choreographer, and healer whose practice is rooted in his experience as a formerly undocumented child who fled the Salvadoran Civil War. Drawing from personal and collective histories, he connects migrant and cancer communities through works that intertwine healing, memory, and social justice.

Uriel Orlow is a Swiss artist born in Zurich whose research-driven, process-oriented practice explores the legacies of colonialism, spatial memory, and social and ecological justice. Through multimedia installations, he brings micro-histories and diverse narrative forms into dialogue.
