Guadalupe Maravilla’s The Star Exploding in the Body Now on View at JMKAC

Guadalupe Maravilla’s exhibition with Emery Blagdon, “The star exploding in the body,” is now open at @jmkac This exhibition brings together for the first time the work of two artists who have both dedicated their lives, through their multifaceted artistic processes, to healing. The exhibition features two interconnected installations by Guadalupe Maravilla: at the Arts Center, the central piece Mariposa Relámpago, a school bus transformed into a healing temple, is activated by healers to create an immersive therapeutic environment, while at the Art Preserve, the bronze sculpture El Espíritu de Mariposa Relámpago Disease Thrower serves as a central altar, surrounded by Emery Blagdon’s paintings and Maravilla’s retablos to harness the space’s spiritual energy.
