We are pleased to announce the participation of our artists Daniel Otero Torres, Théo Mercier and Guadalupe Maravilla at the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026 titled In Interludes and Transitions / في الحِلّ والترحال opens 30 January 2026 and runs through spring in the creative heart of JAX District, Diriyah, in Saudi Arabia.

The Biennale’s theme draws from a colloquial phrase linked to the cycles of encampments and journeys among nomadic communities in the Arabian Peninsula using motion, migration, and transformation as a lens to explore connections between the Gulf region and the wider world. With scenography by design studio Formafantasma, the exhibition is imagined as a choreography of histories, ancestors, dreams, and premonitions moving together through song, stories, dance, and whirlwinds. It brings together works by artists, musicians, filmmakers, architects, and writers to amplify continuity and resilience in times of uncertainty, with over 20 new commissions commissioned for the Biennale.

The exhibition is led by Artistic Directors Nora Razian and Sabih Ahmed, alongside a team of international curators including Maan Abu Taleb, May Makki, Kabelo Malatsie, Lantian Xie, and Sammy Zarka
