Discover Daniel Otero Torres’ work at the latest Centrul de Interes exhibition DIASPORIC.
The show, curated by Ami Barak, proposes an exploration of the power and diversity of approaches to the effects of dispersion, scattering, borders, origin and return. The works study concepts such as insider and outsider, that correspond to realities and lived experiences that offer an emblematic range.
Otero Torres is presenting a series of sculptures for which he borrows the gaze of the anthropologist, the naturalist, the physicist, creating a hybrid and impure cosmogony made of rubbings and reconciliations. Each work is the result of a process of collecting archival or media images and photographs taken throughout his travels, which he combines into heterogeneous compositions.
