We are pleased to announce Carlos Motta’s upcoming solo exhibition Pleas of Resistance at MACBA
The exhibition explores 25 years of Carlos Motta’s practice which proposes alternative accounts to the hegemonic narratives of history, religion and democracy, highlighting his artistic research and its implacable rigor in relation to the archive, interrogating its violence, its silencing and its desires.
The exhibition touches on major themes of Motta’s work such as political histories and social movements, the politics of politics of sexuality and gender and the HIV/Aids epidemic, and the conquest of America from the colonial period until today.
