Charwei Tsai
Charwei Tsai est née en 1980 à Taiwan
Elle vit et travaille actuellement à Taipei, Taiwan
Diplômée en design industriel et en histoire de l’art et de l’architecture de la Rhode Island School of Design (2002), Charwei Tsai a suivi le programme de recherche de troisième cycle La Seine à l’École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (2010).
Des préoccupations à la fois très personnelles et universelles stimulent la pratique pluridisciplinaire de l’artiste. Des motifs géographiques, sociaux et spirituels composent un ensemble d’œuvres, encourageant la participation du spectateur au-delà des limites de la contemplation. Préoccupée par la relation homme/nature, Charwei Tsai médite sur les complexités entre les croyances culturelles, la spiritualité et la fugacité.

Charwei Tsai publie également deux fois par an, depuis 2005, une revue intitulée Lovely Daze. La collection complète de Lovely Daze se trouve dans les bibliothèques de la Tate Modern, Londres, du Museum of Modern Art, New York, du Centre Pompidou, Paris, et du MACBA à Barcelone.
